But Shakespeare will have the last laugh. He is chronicling every mortifying detail in his memoir, the writing project each senior at Shakespeare's high school must complete. And he is doing it brilliantly. And, just maybe, a prize-winning memoir will bring him respect, admiration, and a girlfriend . . . or at least a prom date.

Lots of naughty bits but not enough character growth to make it worth while. I kept waiting for the protagonist to grow up, but the best I saw was his making peace with his neuroses. The author missed a huge opportunity to address Kate's substance abuse. Funny parts, but overall I found this book vapid and shallow.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I was surprised by some of the topics kids have to deal with. It made me realized how complicated students' lives could be. Overall, very real and funny.
